Busch made the declaration from his old neighborhood of Las Vegas and said he will miss the remainder of this season and won't race full-time in Cup one year from now.

"As I keep on zeroing in on my wellbeing and work towards being cleared, I will back away from full-time NASCAR Cup Series contest in 2023," Busch said in the proclamation.

Busch's partner Bubba Wallace, co-proprietor Denny Hamlin, and Toyota Dashing Advancement President David Wilson went to the Las Vegas Engine Speedway for the declaration.

The retirement declaration comes as Busch keeps on recuperating from a blackout he experienced in July at Pocono Raceway.

"I know I'm not 100 percent in that frame of mind to go out and race at the high level in the NASCAR Cup Series," Busch proceeded.

"Next year my contributions to racing may look a little different, but I will continue to give my best to this sport. And if I'm cleared, maybe you'll see me at select races."
